Shares of health insurance provider Elevance Health (NYSE:EVH) fell 9.9% in the afternoon session after peer, Centene pulled its full-year financial guidance, triggering a sector-wide sell-off. 

Shares of rail transportation company Greenbrier (NYSE:GBX) jumped 19% in the afternoon session after the company posted much stronger-than-expected results for its fiscal third quarter and raised its profitability guidance for the full year. The railcar manufacturer reported quarterly earnings of $1.86 per share, handily beating analyst estimates of 98 cents. Sales also beat by a decent margin. The company achieved an aggregate gross margin of 18%, marking the seventh consecutive quarter it has met or exceeded its mid-teens target. Buoyed by the strong performance, Greenbrier raised its full-year guidance for both gross margin and operating margin. The company also highlighted new railcar orders for 3,900 units, valued at over $500 million, and a robust backlog of 18,900 units worth $2.5 billion. Additionally, the board declared its 45th consecutive quarterly dividend and noted ongoing share repurchases.

Shares of iPhone and iPad maker Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) jumped 2.6% in the morning session after Jefferies upgraded the stock following a report indicating strong iPhone sales. 

Shares of healthcare insurance company Molina Healthcare (NYSE:MOH) fell 20.8% in the afternoon session after a sector-wide sell-off as competitor Centene pulled its full-year financial guidance. 

Shares of computer processor maker Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) fell 5.1% in the morning session after reports emerged that the company was considering a significant shift away from its 18A chip-making process. The potential move away from marketing its 18A process to new foundry customers signaled a major pivot for the chipmaker. This technology, which has incurred billions in development costs, was intended to make Intel competitive with industry leader TSMC.
