Nursa CEO Curtis Anderson Named as EY’s Entrepreneur of The Year® 2025 Mountain West Award Finalist

A second-time finalist, Anderson joins 38 other finalists from across the Western United States

Curtis Anderson, CEO and founder of Nursa, has been named an Ernst & Young LLP (EY US) Entrepreneur of The Year® 2025 Mountain West Award finalist for the second consecutive year. Now in its 40th year, the prestigious accolade acknowledges brazen entrepreneurs who are smashing the status quo to positively impact their respective industries and surrounding communities.

The West Mountain award recognizes leaders from Alaska, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming, with finalists spanning a myriad of industries. Independent judges poured over thousands of applications to select 39 finalists that reflect the diverse faces of entrepreneurship — from bootstrapping ventures to multigenerational family businesses, to CEOs driving innovation at every turn.

“Being named to this esteemed list for a second year is a privilege,” said Anderson. “My fellow finalists are visionaries who are setting out to shake up their industries for the better. To be named among them feeds my passion and dedication to addressing one of the biggest hurdles facing the U.S. health system: the nurse staffing shortage.”

Founded in 2019, Nursa is a dynamic staffing platform that connects health facilities in need of nursing staff to local, qualified clinicians. Recognizing the persistent, decades-old staffing issue, Anderson set out to create a modern solution. The result is a real-time, technology-driven platform that seamlessly integrates into health facilities’ operations, significantly decreasing the onramp time to more quickly get nurses to the bedside of patients in need.

Nursa serves health facilities and nurses nationwide. Since its founding, its community has flourished to include more than 350,000 clinicians and 2,400 participating facilities. The company was recently named to Newsweek’s America’s Greatest Startup Workplaces 2025 list, designated a 2025 Company to Watch by Slice of Healthcare, and awarded a Top Workplace of 2024 honor by the Salt Lake Tribune. In parallel, Anderson was named to Slice of Healthcare’s 50 Under 50 list in 2024.

Ernst & Young will host an award ceremony on Friday, June 20, at which it will announce regional winners. These honorees will advance for consideration in the Entrepreneur of the Year National Awards. A group of independent judges from across the country will vote for the national winners which will be revealed during the annual Strategic Growth Forum® in November.
